FUN FACTS ABOUT SHOES

In 1883, a man named Jan Matzeliger created the first machine to make shoes. It was called the lasting machine. It stitched the top leather part of the shoe to the bottom sole, which allowed many shoes to be made quickly. His invention was so important that he has his own stamp.
